Heat It Up! Chili Cook Off Benefit
Please join the Glenwood Sunday Market as they Heat It Up!
Heat It Up! will be a community food and fundraising event to support the ongoing development of the Glenwood Sunday Market. It will feature local cooks, both home and restaurant, providing chili tastings to event-goers. Enter your favorite chili recipe for a chance at bragging rights for the best chili in Rogers Park!
1st Prize Entry to the Retro on Roscoe's festival's chili cook off. The honor of being the BEST CHILI in ROGERS PARK (bragging rights, which are everything right?)
2nd and 3rd Prize Winners will receive free entry to the 2011 Heat It Up! event and bragging rights.
The event will also feature a Magic Hat beer tasting, a Gallo wine tasting, corn bread, gelato/ice cream/paletas and a small silent auction. Buy tickets to attend here.
Professional Judges include Ruth Hoeckwater, owner of Common Cup and Wayne Johnson, Domestic Diva on NBC!

Location: The Glenwood Bar
Entry fee: $25.00.

Contest Rules: Minimum of 1 gallon required for entry. Please bring your own heating element (sterno, crock pot, etc..). Chili may have beans and filler and must be prepared prior to the event and ready to serve at Noon. Cooks will receive an information packet after registering. Chili will be judged by professional judges. First place: Entry to real deal Chili Cook Off at Retro on Roscoe's 2010; become a judge in the 2011 Heat It Up! event. Second and third prizes will receive free entry to next year's event. Popular vote of tasters will also be held. The winner of the popular vote will win the honor of cutting the ribbon at the Glenwood Sunday Market Opening Ceremony June 6th 2010. Table space: Each team or cook will have a bare 3 foot by 3 foot table ready for creative decorating. Set up begins at 10:30am Sunday, February 21st.
